The Year That Was…
This year has been a busy year for me it seems. I can’t really look back and tell you what I did but the year has completely flown by. Maggie has gone from being immobile to full-blown running around the house/up and down stairs. Maybe she’ll take after her mom and continue with the whole “running thing”.

Here are a couple quick facts for 2006:
- States visited in 2006 = Illinois (duh!), Iowa, Indiana, Wisconsin (week at the cabin), Minnesota, Michigan (beach weekend), Washington (Gnomedex!) and Florida (vacation with my parents)
- Number of cars that I either purchased or assisted in purchasing this year: 3 (2 for us and 1 for Mo)
- Most played album = Curious George Soundtrack (Maggie’s a huge Jack Johnson fan ~ not necessarily a reflection of my musical tastes) :)
- Most fun playing around with technology: all of the PHP stuff I’ve done over the last week
- My favorite gadget(s): My DS and Wii (you knew that was coming!)
- My favorite book(s): tie between The Areas of My Expertise, Naked Conversations and Getting Real
- My favorite album/new band: The Long Winters – Putting the Days to Bed

The Year That Is To Come…
Liz and I both have been talking lately and 2007 may possibly be one of the most interesting years we experience. We have a lot of plans that may or may not happen. We’ve been talking about a new house and this may possibly will be the year that we pull the trigger. Liz really wants to grow out her business and will be redoing her website and really taking things to the next level. I have a thing or two up my sleeve that I just can’t really talk about yet, but believe me you’ll know if and/or when it happens! :) If all goes as planned, 2006 will have been a sleeper compared to this coming year!

I’ve rediscovered the Gillmor Gang on my long commute lately and have to say that I’ve really been enjoying it.

Dave likes Josh’s shoes. I have to admit I have a pair myself. I also have a pair of blue ones that I guess I could do a mix/match and be a superfan.

The new My Morning Jacket live album is absolutely awesome.

I’ve been a bit out of touch with the blog world (and this site for that matter). Work has been a bit crazy (or shall I say, “real crazy”)… I’ll be back soon, I promise! Just give me 91 hours more hours of billable time and things should be back to normal.

Up With:
- Fall being right around the corner (courdoroy has officially gone into rotation)
- The Wii finally being getting a release date (more on this later)
- My new Timbuk2 “Blogger” bag (am I loser since this originally caught my eye because of the name? um, yah)
- My “Good Luck Cat” not catching fire (yet)
- The continued success of my steak taco obsession (this may become the name of my “band”)
- Things that charge over USB

Down With:
- iPower Web Hosting (I’ve been dealing with them because of a client. WORST HOSTING COMPANY ever ~ and I felt that way before I got hung up on by their tech support!)
- The media/news (re)coverage of September 11th (reminds me of David Cross’s “9/11 Remix” routine)
- Printers in my house. I’ve never had good luck with any printer I’ve owned.
- Being teased.

Up With:
- The “Everyone’s photos” stream at Flickr
- a.sparag.us (I wonder who owns that?) ;)
- BBQ Rib Festivals
- Canfield’s Seltzer Water (does Canfield’s not have an official website?)
- Homemade nametags

Down With:
- Bad cupholders in cars
- Crap software (I’ll not link to what I’m thinking about to protect the innocent)
- Nick and Jessica USO Shows
- Cadillac Bicycles (wtf?)

Here are 10 of my favorite things (in no particular order):
1. Hanging out with Liz and Maggie. Of course it’s obligatory, but it’s also the truth.
2. Shorts and long-sleeve t-shirt weather. Days that are really sunny, but when you go outside the temperature is much cooler than you would have thought.
3. Rainy days. There’s something about a grey-ish, rainy day that I enjoy just as much as the type of day described in #2.
4. Thursday nights at the Moose Lodge. They knocked our old bar down!
5. German cars. The minute you drive a decent car, you understand how great a well-engineered vehicle is.
6. Great design. Anything from Apple’s latest OS to the work of the Eames’ to prefab housing.
7. Listening to NPR on Saturday mornings. My latest addiction.
8. Fresh Basil. Probably my absolute favorite smell/taste. Along with fresh buffalo mozzarella, tomatoes, good olive oil and a little Kosher salt and I have a meal.
9. Playing Bags during the summer. It’s called something else in every area of the US. Basically horseshoes played with bean-bags and plywood boards.
10. Going to concerts at the following venues: The Vic Theatre, The Auditorium Theatre or Schuba’s.
