Looking for a place to open a coffee shop in Chicago?

I’ve scouted the perfect location.

If you are someone looking to open a coffee shop or expand upon your small/awesome existing chain (yes I’m talking to you, Intelligentsia), I cannot think of a better place than in the Civic Opera House or somewhere between Washington and Madison on the east-side of Wacker. I know several people that could easily keep you in business. Until that point, we may have to consider installing a zip line over the Chicago River that goes right into Northwestern Station.

red wine and listening to The Decemberists on a rainy night. For some reason that sounds really, really appealing. don’t know why, but it does.

I don’t know where that idea came from other than me listening to some Decemberists as we speak.Â yeah, i’m weird and it’s one of those days…Â :)

Really interesting link that I saw over on the Coudal feed today…

If you had purchased $1,000.00 of Nortel stock one year ago, it would now be worth $49.00.

With Enron, you would have had $16.50 left of the original $1,000.00.

With WorldCom, of $1000.00 you would have had less than $5.00 left.

But, if you had purchased $1,000.00 worth of Beer one year ago, drank all the beer, then turned in the cans for the aluminum recycling REFUND, you would have had $214.00.

That really puts things in perspective, huh? (and if you read the article, you’ll see I borrowed the title of this post ~ it was too good) :)
