I was watching the Channel 5 news last night and they had a quick/strange blurb between stories quickly stating that Hunter S. Thompson killed himself yesterday. I could not find any other mention of this anywhere on television or the internet until today.
What a huge loss.
Things that I did and/or found interesting today:
- Read an interesting article from today’s Wall Street Journal regarding the dwindling supply of analog tape (Jeff Tweedy of Wilco is mentioned in the article/Check out the sweet “WSJ caricature” of him)
- Watched yesterday’s MacWorld Keynote
- Was amazed that it was 63 degrees in Chicago on January [...]
It’s officially 2005 and so far, everything feels just like 2004. What’s up with that? :)
Things I’ve been dedicating a lot of time towards lately:
- Euro 2004
- Improving my gambling techniques (getting ready for this weekend)
- Using basil in practically everything I’ve made this week (other than my PB&J for lunch today)
- Using BitTorrent to download lots and lots of shows
- Listening to the new Wilco cd
- Watching Good Eats [...]
