Scarred For Life

Wednesday, August 10th, 2005

Seven years later, I can’t look at a coat hook without thinking about that scene from the movie, “Very Bad Things”. I’m not kidding you, everytime I see a coat hook…
What has scarred you in the past? :)

I’ve Finally Figured It Out

Wednesday, July 13th, 2005

Forget opening the cheese shop. Forget opening the authentic Napolese pizza shop. I now know what I want to do when I grow up…
I want to be a bicycle racing commentator for the Tour De France. The last several July’s I have been pre-occupied by “Le Tour”, but this year in particular [...]

Replacing the carpet

Wednesday, June 15th, 2005

When you have a big goofy dog like we do that drools and sheds a lot, your carpet just doesn’t last like you would hope it would. No matter how many times you throw our Dyson at it, it just doesn’t get clean anymore.
I have finally found a great solution that blends my love [...]

Possibly The Longest Week Ever

Friday, June 10th, 2005

I don’t know why, but for some reason this week has been one of the longest weeks I’ve ever experienced. I’m looking forward to a weekend of not really doing a whole lot.
I guess this week wasn’t a total wash. Here are some things I discovered/learned recently:
- Diet Coke with Splenda [...]

Down With:
- Bad cupholders in cars
- Crap software (I’ll not link to [...]

It’s true…

Monday, February 21st, 2005

I was watching the Channel 5 news last night and they had a quick/strange blurb between stories quickly stating that Hunter S. Thompson killed himself yesterday. I could not find any other mention of this anywhere on television or the internet until today.
What a huge loss.

Just another random Wednesday

Wednesday, January 12th, 2005

Things that I did and/or found interesting today:
- Read an interesting article from today’s Wall Street Journal regarding the dwindling supply of analog tape (Jeff Tweedy of Wilco is mentioned in the article/Check out the sweet “WSJ caricature” of him)
- Watched yesterday’s MacWorld Keynote
- Was amazed that it was 63 degrees in Chicago on January [...]

Happy New Year

Saturday, January 1st, 2005

It’s officially 2005 and so far, everything feels just like 2004. What’s up with that? :)

In-n-Out

Thursday, June 17th, 2004

Things I’ve been dedicating a lot of time towards lately:
- Euro 2004
- Improving my gambling techniques (getting ready for this weekend)
- Using basil in practically everything I’ve made this week (other than my PB&J for lunch today)
- Using BitTorrent to download lots and lots of shows
- Listening to the new Wilco cd
- Watching Good Eats [...]

Friday Blow-out

Friday, May 28th, 2004

It’s been a really really busy week and I’m so ready for a long weekend to recharge… Here’s some links to ponder if you feel like looking at a computer this weekend:
- Tom has a lot of the same thoughts going through his head as I do
- Gore’s speech transcript
- Wired’s profile on Nick [...]
