Hey, Mr./Ms. Blogger… Where’s your search box?
I’ve been noticing more and more that people are excluding search boxes/searching from their weblogs? Yes, I’m too lazy to seek them out right now and link to them but trust me, they’re out there. Keep your eyes open. They are missing from lots of sites. This seems strange to me since every major piece of blogging software has searching available out of the box.
I love tagging, but that doesn’t always help me when I’m looking for a specific term. If you a run a blog/website and you don’t have a search mechanism in place, I’m interested as to why not? Please leave a comment and let me know.

I try to be good about putting a search box on my site. WordPress sidebar widgets make it brain dead simple. :-)
There’s also the fallback trick of doing a google search in the form of:
site:their.sitename.com searchterms
You can google their site, whether or not they have a search box. I use that all the time when a site doesn’t provide decent search capabilities.
