Playing with IE7 Beta

Tuesday, January 31st, 2006

As you may have heard, Microsoft released Internet Explorer 7: Beta 2 to the public today. Being the carefree early adopter that I am, I threw caution to the wind and installed this new browser on my work laptop. Did I make a mistake? Let’s find out…

I first saw IE7 at Gnomedex [...]

Phil Lesh speaks about Ryan Adams

Tuesday, January 31st, 2006

Via AnsweringBell.com:

I love playing with Ryan because he’s fearless; because he doesn’t have to do anything the same way twice; because every idea he throws out in a jam is a little gem that cries out “polish me”; because he has about nine hundred voices that he can use like [...]

Quote of the Day

Monday, January 30th, 2006
    From a co-worker today:

“Tiger Direct is the TJ Maxx of Technology”

I thought that was funny (and true). :)

You’re No Alton Brown

Thursday, January 26th, 2006

The advertising worked. I had to set up a season pass on my Tivo to record it. I finally watched it.

Ugh.

I have to say that “Ham On The Street” is easily the worst show that the Food Network has ever aired. Not a fan.

Another Wilco RSS Feed

Wednesday, January 18th, 2006

Back in November, I mentioned that WilcoBase now has an RSS Feed so you could easily keep track of the band’s setlists for each show.

Today, while poking around the official Wilco site (looking to see when the presale started for the upcoming Tweedy solo show in Dekalb), I saw that the band now has their [...]

Everyone needs some Nintendo in their life

Friday, January 13th, 2006

A couple of months ago I cleaned out my “junk closet” and sold a bunch of old video games and “outdated” gadgetry (and things I wanted to upgrade) that I wasn’t using a whole lot on eBay. All in all it was a great success and this allowed me to get a new 60gb [...]

Apple is “allowing” the new Macs to run Windows

Tuesday, January 10th, 2006

From an article on MSNBC today:

Phil Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of worldwide product marketing, said in an interview Tuesday that the company won’t sell or support Windows itself, but also hasn’t done anything to preclude people from loading Windows onto the machines themselves.

“That’s fine with us. We don’t mind,” Schiller said. “If there are [...]

MacWorld Frenzy!

Tuesday, January 10th, 2006

Steve Jobs just walked off stage a few minutes ago after delivering his keynote for MacWorld 2006… Lots of announcements today (no kidding!), with the biggest being the new (Intel-driven) iMacs and announcement of the MacBook Pro (shipping in February)…

All I know is that Liz and I have been thinking about getting a new [...]
