Let’s Speculate On The “Rumored” Video iPod
If you’ve read any website with a technical slant today I’m sure you know about the upcoming “Apple Event’ next week. All the rumor sites are abuzz with speculation on the infamous Video iPod. Personally, I think it would be a very cool device.
Having a larger screen, I would love to be able to somehow carry television shows with me that I could watch while I’m at lunch, on a train, etc. Would that be possible? Who knows? Also, being able to watch all the video clips that come through some of the podcast feeds I subscribe to (like Make) would be very cool as well (and probably a guarantee since videos are supported within the iTunes client).
The one piece of media that I would love to be able to have integrated into an iPod with a larger screen would be some sort of eBook reader. I do not have a PDA and would love to have a device that I could read eBooks while I’m on the go. iTunes has supported the storage of PDFs for quite a while and having a larger screen on the rumored iPod would be perfect for reading these files “on the go”. Apple could easily integrate eBooks into the iTunes Music Store (although that name is quickly becoming outdated).
Anyways, I’m pretty excited to see what Apple releases. I’ve been toying with the idea of a new iPod for some time since I have outgrown my old 40gb model. Now I just have to convince Liz that “I we need one”…
That’s always the hard part.
