Marusin.com has been Hi-Jacked
At least that’s how I see it… Mike was kind enough to offer me a guest posting gig over here with the instructions that I would have an obligation of posting at least once while he’s away. So over the next couple of days I’ll be ignoring my web log and spending sometime here.
A quick introduction of myself probably reads like this - I’m an uber-geek with a strong penchant for technology and the belief in it’s ability to reshape power structures within society.
I hate (such a strong word) the RIAA and MPAA because of their lack of vision and short-sightedness (as it relates to servicing their customers using technology) and support the Electronic Frontier Foundation and other organizations that seek to protect our civil liberties both in the real world and in Cyberspace.
I’m a technologist with a curious interest in how computer technology shapes our lives on a daily basis, whether dealing with the simplist notion or more complex ideas, I find it all very appealing. For example, it’s fascinating to see a device like Tivo and the changes that it has brought. From changing peoples television viewing habits, TV marketers perspective on how to reach viewers, distribution methods, and on and on…
I’m a million other things as well but the items above are where some of my passions lie and as such, draw my focus the majority of the time right now.
Hopefully I won’t bore most of you too bad but if I do please send the hate mail to marusin.com.
Also thanks again to Mike for providing me with a fresh forum.
