Trigger Software Update Through SSH
So you want to get the downloads for iPhoto 2.0 and iMovie 3.0 cooking before you head home? I discovered this today and it’s very cool…
If you’re SSH’ed into your Mac, all you need to do is run ‘sudo softwareupdate‘ and it will list the available updates. Start ‘em up by doing something like ‘sudo softwareupdate iPhoto-2.0‘ or ‘sudo softwareupdate iMovie-3.0.1‘ and they’ll be done by the time you get home…
Fun fact of the day! (and tested by Tony since I can’t SSH out of where I am!) :)
